New York Mets Memorial Day Giveaway

Challenge

Publicis North America, the largest global advertising agency network, wanted a creative giveaway to hand out before the New York Mets baseball game at Citifield on Memorial Day. The item had to be creative, useful and represent Mr. Met, the official mascot of the New York Mets. Publicis also need the item selected and produced in less than 60 days.

Solution

Bevilacque Group powered by Proforma suggested a custom umbrella that resembled Mr. Met. The custom 48” arc umbrella had stitching that looked like a baseball and even featured Mr. Met’s eyes. The products had to be air shipped to the agency to arrive on time.

Results

The umbrellas were a hit with fans and the Mets organization. The Owner of the Mets commented, “I hope it doesn’t rain, but when it does, I will be using your creative Citi Perks umbrella!” The client loved the promotion so much that they ordered another 500 umbrellas to hand out at the July 4th game.
